Vid Bingo 2020 Project

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone's vidding projects are going well and happy almost-festivids! :)

I've been batting this idea around for several months now and would like to see if there's enough interest to make it happen.

There used to be a stigma in some vidding circles about using the same song as someone else. Which is unfortunate, because sometimes a song is an AMAZING vidding song and fits so well for so many fandoms. I enjoy seeing completely different fandoms vidded to the same song. Even the same fandom with a different take or different characters is enticing!

What if we chose a song as a group, then each signed up for a fandom to make a vid using that same song. At the end of the year, we'd have a virtual vid show that sounded like a repeat - but would really be a visual feast.

Below are some examples of same song/different vid:

Glitter & Gold by Barns Courtney
MCU
Game of Thrones

Radioactive by Imagine Dragons
Supernatural
Star Trek Enterprise

An intentional duo:
Space Girl - The Imagined Village
Mutlifandom vid by Charmax
Multifandom vid by AurumCalendula

For this to be somewhat accessible to as many fandoms as possible, I suggest selecting a song that's both popular and widely available. Perhaps one that already has a few vids - the more the merrier!

So I ask of you 2 things.
1) Does this hold any interest for you, and if so, what song suggestions do you have? (my intent is that we'll discuss and then have a poll)
2) If you'd like, please share other examples of same song/different vid below.

1) I'd be very interested!! :D That sounds amazing! Don't have a song idea right now, but will think about it.

2)
one more for Glitter and Gold:
Hannibal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RspfMI-rZpw

and one more for Radioactive (self rec)
Mad Max movies https://archiveofourown.org/works/5198525

Thank you!!

I really hope other people will be interested as well, it sounds like so much fun :)

Some songs that came to mind:
Tik Tok
Call Me Maybe
Timber
All The Small Things
Be My Yoko Ono
Odds Are

I have actually vidded already two of these, but I wouldn't mind doing it again. We'd need songs that are kind of vague, so that they will fit most fandoms and various concepts.

This sounds really neat! I'll have to think on song ideas.

This sounds very cool! I second Call Me Maybe. Maybe We Will Rock You or Final Countdown.

This would be so fun! I am with everyone on thinking Ke$ha or Carly Rae Jepson would be good choices.

I think this would be fun too. No songs to recommend though.

I'm always very in favour of this - I put together a vidshow for Vidukon a few years back with pairs of vids to the same song, Same Song, Difference Source.

It sounds cool but I might just be a spectator depending on the song picked.

I checked my playlists for songs that might fit the bill but I think the popularity part is stumping me a bit. Maybe Fall Out Boy? Or Lizzo.

I'm sure I can think of more but for now I'd rec:

Run This Town:
Arrow (black card transitions, fast cuts, light flickers)
Avengers (black card transitions, fast cuts)
