Vidding Chatter

Hello vidders!!
Welcome to the monthly(-ish) chatter post. Feel free to talk about any vidding topic at all, it doesn't need to be related to your bingo card - although it can be!

This month’s post is brought to you from [community profile] vidukon_cardiff.
*waves hello*
Have you ever been to a vid or fan-focused convention? Which one? What was your experience like, etc?

I went to the last Vividcon an had a great time! (I do wish I'd had a time-turner - it was difficult to decide between panels and vidshows)

I went to the last three Vividcons. They were pretty great, although travel was cursed. My first VVC I got there something like 19 hours after planned because my plane was cancelled.

But the conventions were great and dancing at Club Vivid to vids was an amazing experience every time.

I went to the last VividCon and loved the experience! I wish it hadn't been the last. It's tough for me to make it to cons because of the distance (I'm from Brazil) but I'm planning on going to the next FanWorks (which isn't vid-focused but has a vidding track), and hopefully VidUKon (the distance is practically the same, and I have friends all over the UK!)

I had a blast at VVC but, like AurumCalendula I wish I could've participated in everything. But not only were a ton of things happening at the same time, it was also VERY TIRING to do everything and I'd wind up taking a nap and missing stuff. But it was amazing and I learned a lot, and met a ton of people that I've known by pseudonym for over a decade but had never met irl. I'm hoping to meet everyone again at some point!

I have never been to a vidding convention. I am jealous of everyone who doesn't live at the bottom of the world!

I have been to sf cons, one with a vid show when I wasn't expecting it, one that was meant to have something on vidding, but which got cancelled, so some of us hung out in the hall and watched vids on our phones. Possibly I should pay more attention to the local anime con, because I did see they had an AMV contest this year. But I looked at the rules and they had to be PG-13 so I didn't think I could enter. (And now I am working on an AMV about my love for traumatic and violent anime.)

I am hoping some vid people will come to WorldCon when it is NZ next year, and we can hang out then!

I'm definitely hoping to go to the Worldcon in New Zealand! I will be at the Dublin Worldcon this summer also (sadly missing Fanworks Con for it)

I've been to one where we did activities related to our canon, but nothing transformative works related. Headed to Fanworks though. Trying to make sonething for it (possibly also for a square, depending on end result) though I may not succeed.
