Congratulations to the TWO vids set to 'Level Up' so far. extrapenguin & atamascolily both posted a vid to our challenge and in such amazingly different fandoms - it's really awesome to see how widely the song can be interpreted.

Pretty good so far!

As of last week, I have a full draft of idea I'd been kicking around for a while. I also just finished a vid I got the idea for while watching one of the VidUKon vidshows!

I remain incredibly amused that we both used the exact same title which was not the title of the song.

Right?! Ha - that was amusing. I wonder if others are going to follow suit?

You might have to call the resulting vidshow "Level Up and Call Your Vid Begin Again", in that case! :P Though I suppose at least someone will turn up with a vid called, if not Level Up, then at least a quote of a different line of lyrics.

I spent a long time agonizing over this, because I knew you had also done it, but "Level Up" feels like a very modern expression, one that doesn't quite fit with the time period of the fandom I was referencing, whereas "Begin Again" not only did, it also reflected the core themes better.... I figured "you know, we're working from the same song, it's only natural there's going to be overlap in the titles as well".

...but yeah, it is hilarious, isn't it?

And meanwhile, I chose against Level Up because it fit the fandom a bit too well, video game and all! I wonder how many people will go with Level Up in the end, and how many will end up with a Begin Again vid.

I'd like to rewatch of Andor for mine, even though I recently clipped the entire series. I have so many competing ideas now on exactly what/who to focus on and think a rewatch will help.
Plus... I just want to rewatch it.

Are you thinking of doing Andor as well? I think it could be very interesting having both the same song and the same source.

Yeah, that's the one! I watched The Secret Garden vid and as soon as I heard the song, all I could think of was Andor. It would be interesting to compare two vids to the same song with the same fandom, definitely. Not sure when I could start it. I don't think I have Andor yet. Also would want to rewatch of course. What a hardship.

I would be happy to see if we could collaborate to make them a pair of sorts - or release them at the same time - or... any other ideas.
I have never tried to make one vid with someone before, and am uncertain if our software would even be compatible. But maybe we could brainstorm other ways to make them compatible in some meta way.

I'm also 100% happy to both go along and do our own thing and then see what comes out.

FYI - I have a busy few weeks and won't have much vidding time, so I'm sort of vaguely aiming at August(-ish).

Ooh! What an interesting idea! I'll think about that. Don't you use Final Cut? I've never done that either. I also won't have much time until the second half of July. Also I had another vid idea I wanted to tackle first. Not that I couldn't work on two at the same time, I suppose.

Oh I'd love to see two vids to the same song with the same fandom! It would be so interesting to see the similarities and differences.
