Hello vidders and vid-fans!

How is the vidding going? What are you working on - bingo related or not - and what have you been watching?

I wondered if folks wanted to talk about resources. Specifically source footage, but also audio. Where do you get your material these days?

If I own it on blu-ray or dvd I use MakeMKV and than convert it in handbrake to a format my editor likes. If it's on youtube, dailymotion, etc., I can usually get it with 4K Video Downloader, JDownloader, or the Ant Video downloader browser extension. And if it's streaming someplace where those don't work I screen record it with WM Capture (how well this works depends since my laptop is older).

[I wish more stuff got physical releases or was possible to buy in mp4/mkv form like mp3s are]

tbh a bunch of times I've asked in the vidding discord if anyone has [x] (especially if I'm looking for something like cdramas without hardcoded subtitles or platform logos)

For music I usually buy it off bandcamp, Amazon or iTunes. If it's not available I look if it's available via my local library system on https://www.freegalmusic.com or as a physical CD. If all else fails I get if off Youtube.
