I use http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/ on a Mac, but see there's a windows version. I save the clips as *mp4 so they don't have to be rendered in FCP. I'm sure there's a similar setting for DVR?

I tried vidding once without clipping and while technically I made a vid, I wasn't a fan of the process.
