Per usual, an 'event' has revived my vidding interest. Not that it ever disappears, but it does tend to diminish as life gets busy.
Anyway, in this case it was VidUkon (yay!). So that's what's new with me. ;)

One of my goals was to participate in vexercises, which I nearly forgot about - but I slid into the first one at the last minute, so WIN! The second exercise has recently been posted and you can join at any time. This one is 'Visual Continuity' and I love it when I see it in vids, so it's going to be fun to try and fuss out having the patience to do it myself.

There were so many AMAZING vids that premiered at VidUkon this past weekend, but I found this one in particular to be insipiring:

It's a multi-fandom vid set to one of my favorite musical artists, Brandi Carlile. It feels like such a celebration of women and all the ways their relationships manifest onscreen. Just very beautiful.

I'm still poking at my card. I've been trying to finish this one square forever, life and the difficulty level of my concept have been slowing me down. But I think I'm making progress this week! I finished a couple of premieres for vidukon, one of them after struggling forever to find the right song for this ship. So I think I'm on a good vidding swing at the moment! I want to try making a premiere for fanworks next.

I'm attemping vexercises this summer! I'm also planning to try and (finally) complete my bingo card (I think one of my upcoming premieres fits one of my empty slots).

I have a number of ideas percolating (a bunch are for Word of Honor).

I really enjoyed VidUKon! There were so many good vids!

VidUkon was so inspiring overall! Everyone's so talented.

VidUKon was definitely super inspiring! I love seeing all the amazing work people do and getting to connect with other vidders.

I have a vid I've been tinkering with that I hoped to premiere at FanWorks minicon or at VidUKon, but instead I stalled out. It would be perfect for the FanWorks themed premiere show, though, so that's my next goal!

It's always so satisfying when you work through something (like finding the right song for a ship) and things start flowing again.

I don't know why I didn't participate before --- I'm guessing it was a combo of partially intimidated and partially "I-do-what-I-want" when it comes to vidding. heh.

Also, vexervises can do double duty for your bingo card. Just sayin' ;)

I have such a blast every time - even when it's been virtual. I liked the hybrid this year, but hope I can attend in person next year *fingers crossed*

Ugh... I hate it when vids stall out. I hope it comes together for you for fanworks!

I didn't know I needed some of these sources in my life until I saw the vids. And if the only thing I know about some of them are the vids - then I'm okay with that :D
